Summer Dreamin’ – Swimwear Season

Summer is coming up and I am anxious to get to the pool. I try to wear lots of SPF and stay out of direct sun, but man, after the last several months I’m in dire need of some Vitamin D action, not to mention, I love the smell of chlorine. Every time I go into the gym locker room the chlorine smell gives me flashbacks to summer and vacations. Hopefully it’ll warm up soon. I got this Becca swimsuit in 2008:

I really don’t need another swimsuit, but that’s not stopping me from browsing. I found Maggie May Swimear via the I Am Style-ish Blog…and I soooo want one of these swimsuits. These hand-knitted swimsuits are really different:

BALLET-INSPIRED FASHION: BALLET NECK TOPS & WRAP SWEATERS

I think I enjoyed my ballet warm-ups as much as if not more than my ballet costumes. I had so many cozy knit sweaters and tops that I would wear to ballet class.  Ballet warm-ups are meant to accentuate the shape so it’s only natural that the style of collar bone-baring boat neck tops and waist-accentuating wrap sweaters would become popular in mainstream fashion. I have a wrap sweater I got from H&M in 2003.  I held tight to my wrap sweater addiction even through the past few years where they, for a time, were nowhere to be found.  No other sweater style is as flattering!  I am happy to see that they have returned.

Leaving Las Vegas….

I am returning from a trip to Vegas this morning…65 and sunny to 33 and raining!!!  Even though it has been a long, cold winter I am not quite ready to give up the cool weather clothes.

I got the cream blazer with navy grosgrain trim from Anne Taylor LOFT.  I loved it the second I saw it and ordered it immediately because I had a feeling it would sell fast, and it did! It’s really cute with casual clothes but I can also really dress it up for work. I am not very big on designer logos, but I do love the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Speedy 35. The brown canvas with tan logos and red edging on the handles looks classy with everything.

My boyfriend is from Iowa, and he got me the Victoria’s Secret Pink University of Iowa V-neck Tee ~ I have been to Iowa once! I wouldn’t have ever guessed it, BUT believe it or not I love this shirt.  It fits so well and is so soft, and the dark heather and white lettering is really cute.  I have (probably way too) many plain, solid shirts, so I get excited when I find one that I like that isn’t.  Yep, my boyfriend is dressing me now.

Have a great weekend!
